3. October 2024

In this blog post, we look at the new updates that monday.com published in September. We have created a brief overview of the new features for each product, in which you can also see directly which monday.com plan the update applies to and which phase it is currently in.

Let’s start directly with the entire Work OS platform and the overarching product innovations.

Work OS platform

“Pending” invitations in the administration area

Status of the update: fully rolled out

Administrators can now track outstanding member invitations in the administration centre administration centre and resend them if necessary. Previously, it was difficult for the inviters to keep track of these invitations, as there was no dedicated administration area for them. With this new function in the AdminCentre makes the process much easier and user management more efficient.

Use Case

  • Tracking of invitations for growing teams: Inviters now have the ability to, easily track sent invitations in the administration centre and manage follow-up actions, to ensure that new members join smoothly.
  • Increase the conversion rate of trial members: An account champion who monitors invitations to trial users and focuses on, potential users into full members can now do this centrally and efficiently.

Trial members for existing accounts

Status of the update: partially rolled out

Previously, new accounts only had the option of testing the platform in a trial version. Existing accounts could invite new users either as viewers only or as paying members.
Now, admins of existing accounts can invite new users to the platform as full members for a 14-day trial. At the end of this trial, they can decide whether or not to purchase an additional seat. If this is not the case, the user is automatically registered as a viewer again.

Favourites view

Status of the update: fully rolled out

The visibility and user-friendliness of the ” Favourites” section has been improved in monday.com . The view is now located above the menu in a separate, expandable area. This new positioning emphasises the cross-product functionality of the ” Favourites” and makes it easier for users to access the most frequently used or important elements.

Use Case

Quick access to frequently used boards: Users who regularly use certain boards or dashboards , can now save them in a special ” favourites”area. This reduces the time you need to search in different workspaces, and increases productivity.
Cross-product users can easily switch between boards, dashboards, documents and other elements in different products.

“Parent template” becomes “Managed template”

Status des Updates: Beta

As part of its enterprise standardisation offering (along with global Column, currently in testing), monday.com has renamed the “Parent Template” to
“Managed Template” – conveying the importance of a central workflow builder that manages the work process for other users in the organisation.

With the expansion of the platform , monday.com offers companies tools that enable them to standardise their workflows. These tools support centralised management, provide comprehensive organisation-wide reports and ensure compliance with processes.
monday.com’ s special approach to standardisation combines uniformity with flexibility, without severely restricting the autonomy of the individual teams .

Share Updates via E-mail

The ” Share update ” function, which made it possible to share monday updates externally by e-mail from “notifications@monday.com”, is being switched off for good.

This function was deactivated in May 2024 due to low usage. Alternatively, methods such as the API or user mentions can be used to achieve similar functionality.

Daily overview/day highlight

The Daily Digest email feature summarises account highlights, introduces new team members and lists the day’s deadlines.
The main issue with this feature is its impact on performance, and it was decided not to invest further design and product resources in it.
The feature has already been disabled in the US for several months, and will be disabled in Europe and Australia.
