In this blog post, we will go through the updates that monday.com has released this July. We have created a short summary of the updates for each product, where you can also see for which monday.com plan the update is for and which phase the update is in.
Let’s start right away with the entire Work OS platform.
Work OS platform
Move Workspaces to different monday.com products
Accounts that have a lot of content spread across multiple workspaces, can now easily transfer their workspaces to another monday.com product with just a few clicks, if you decide to add or change to another product.

Use Case
Users who want to expand their collaboration with other departments in the company. For example, the development team would like to collaborate with the sales team that uses monday CRM, to include and prioritize customer requests for new features in the product roadmap and the development board and to prioritize them.
Users who are already working with a particular product and want to move their work to another product that better fits their workflow, or users who want to expand their work to more products and need to share some existing workspaces instead of creating them from scratch.
Work management
Portfolio Solution – Automatic RAG status updates
Users can now set up automation based on the status of project tasks and change the RAG status on the high-level board in the portfolio at regular intervals (daily/weekly/monthly).
Use Case
A portfolio owner sets up an automation that runs once a week and updates the project status (RAG) on Amber when 50% of the tasks in the project board have the status “Done”.

Portfolio Solution – Parent Template Support
Parent templates can now be used in the Portfolio Solution. This means that a parent template must contain at least one board for it to work. So if the parent template is selected in an automation, all the boards it contains will be created in your solution, but only the first board will be automatically connected to the portfolio.
Find out more about this partner template here.
Use Case
A PMO can ensure that every project that is approved in the organization uses the pre-approved structure and methodology of the project board as contained in the overarching template.

monday dev
Label-Change-Conditions
Setting conditions and required fields for tickets in monday Dev ensures that important information is captured, routes tasks efficiently and keeps everyone aligned. By requiring specific details and triggering actions based on conditions, you can create complete tickets, avoid delays due to missing information and automate workflows for smooth project management.
Use Case
Error reporting: Define a condition, according to which a developer may only be assigned to the ticket if the “Reproducible steps” field is filled in. This ensures that the reporter has provided clear steps to recover from the error, which reduces back and forth communication and saves developers time.
In addition, a mandatory field for the “severity level” (critical, major, minor) helps prioritize bug fixes based on their impact. These conditions and required fields streamline the development process by ensuring that important information is recorded and tasks are forwarded efficiently.

monday WorkCanvas
Export canvas to PDF
It is now possible to export the canvas as a PDF. This can be done in two different ways:
-
- Option 1: you can simply export the entire Canva as a PDF.
- Variante 2: Du kannst verschiedene Frames auf dem Canva markieren und diese dann als PDF exportieren. Jedes Frame hat dann eine eigene Seite.
Use Case
- A workflow builder that has to represent a complex process in stages.
- An agile specialist who needs to report on progress to functions that do not use WorkCanvas.
- A procurement specialist who has to share certain information from a canvas with external providers.
- Export sensitive information as PDF.
Template for a bidirectionally synchronized timeline
Users can now use a timeline template in WorkCanvas that syncs with their monday.com board, allowing real-time synchronization in both directions. This option is for WorkCanvas and monday.com users who have a Pro or Enterprise plan.
Use Case
- Planning of project schedules in WorkCanvas, execution of the project in monday.com and regular creation of progress reports from the canvas. You can manage a project directly from WorkCanvas and connect it to a board and a dashboard in monday.com at the same time.
