How to integrate Salesforce into monday.com
The integration of Salesforce into monday.com is relatively simple and does not require extensive technical expertise. Here are the basic steps:
Note: This integration is only available in the Enterprise package. To set up this integration, you must also have a Salesforce Enterprise or Unlimited subscription. Salesforce does not support integrations in its Essentials or Professional packages.
Before you can create and use this integration, a package must be installed on your Salesforce account. This message contains a link to the integration package. This package can only be installed by a Salesforce team member with the “API Enabled” authorisation. This is most likely your system administrator.
Once the package has been successfully installed, the integration with a monday.com board can be created by any Salesforce team member with “API Enabled” authorisation. Contact your system administrator for this authorisation.
Step 1
To do this, go to the selected monday.com board and click on the integration button at the top right of the screen:
The integration centre opens. Here you can see all the apps that are integrated with monday.com. Select Salesforce in the centre:
Step 2
Now you can see the currently available formulas for the integration of Salesforce with monday.com. In the second integration formula, Updates of existing objects that fulfil the specified conditions are also synchronised with monday.com.
Step 3
When you click on one of the integration formulas, you will be prompted to enter your Salesforce subdomain:
Step 4
Set up your integration
Let’s look at an example to better understand how this integration works; We use the formula: If an object meets these conditions, create an item and synchronise all future changes from Salesforce.
Note: In this integration formula, updates to existing objects that fulfil the specified conditions are also synchronised with monday.com.
Select an object that you want to synchronise. In this example we use “Lead”.
Note: Under “Object” you will see custom units, but it can take up to 3 minutes for custom objects to be synchronised. You can also synchronise user-defined fields when the element is assigned.
Under “Conditions” we select what we want to filter on our board. In this case, we filter for leads with the surname “Smith”:
You can add multiple “conditions”, but they will be “and-” and not “or-conditions”. This means that the integration reads all these conditions and only includes elements that fulfil all conditions. Currently, you can only set up multiple conditions with “and”.
Now select under “Element” which data should be assigned in each column when synchronising the lead.
Note: If you select which data should be assigned in the individual columns, the Salesforce integration column will be added automatically. When you add your integration, a tip will appear explaining the purpose of the column. The purpose is to maintain the connection between the parameters in both apps
Try it out to see if the integration really works.
When a new lead is created in Salesforce, an element is created on your board!
